An in-person academic interview at the nearest Campus France office in Nigeria. Documents are attested here against originals.
Document submission and biometrics at VFS Abuja or VFS Lagos. The visa fee of €50 is paid here.
Apply to Aura → pass Skype interview → receive conditional offer letter. Then pay at least 50% tuition fee and get payment receipt.
Create your account on the Etudes en France platform. All Nigerian students going to France for 3+ months must complete this step before applying for a visa.

Fill in the VLS-TS (long-stay student visa) application form online at france-visas.gouv.fr. Print and sign before submission.
Submit complete visa file at VFS Global Abuja or VFS Lagos. Pay the €50 visa fee. Biometrics are collected here — fee is non-refundable after this point.
€50 Visa FeeVisa processing typically takes 4–8 weeks after VFS submission. Once approved, book your travel and prepare for arrival in Lyon.
Your bank statement must show a minimum of €12,000 available — equivalent to one full year of living expenses in France. Statements must not be older than 3 months. Alternatively, a Studely blocked account with €8,000 is also accepted as proof of funds. This is separate from tuition payment.
Sponsor Documents: If a sponsor (parent or guardian) is supporting you financially, they must provide: a covering letter explaining their financial situation, ID proof, last 3 months bank statements, last 3 years ITR (tax returns), and last 3 months payslips or proof of employment. Additional documents may be requested by the consulate.
